Motion Applied launches AMPEX ultra-rapid EV charging solutions to transform UK infrastructure
Motion Applied, formerly McLaren Applied, today announced its entry into the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging market with the launch of it’s new AMPEX range of ultra-rapid EV chargers. Building on over 35 years of automotive and motorsport innovation, the company is now redefining the off-vehicle charging experience.
Facing the Challenges of a Growing EV Market
The EV industry is evolving rapidly but its growth is not without challenges. Our new EV charging solutions address the most critical issues faced by charge point operators and fleet managers:
- Speed and Convenience: Minimise wait times and maximise fleet uptime.
- Reliability: Ensure consistent power delivery and charger availability.
- Installation Efficiency: Enable rapid deployment and integration.
- Adaptive Power Delivery: Future-proof infrastructure for evolving vehicle battery tech.
The Solution: Redefining the EV Charging Experience
Motion Applied has developed a new range of EV charging solutions under the AMPEX brand, designed to tackle the challenges of a fast-evolving market. Leading the way is our ultra-fast 720kW power unit and satellite dispensers, capable of delivering up to 180 miles of range in just five minutes. The Motion Applied system provides a dynamic and flexible charging experience, setting a new benchmark for speed, performance and end user satisfaction.
Our AMPEX charging solutions go beyond ultra-fast charging, addressing critical priorities such as reliability, adaptability and scalability. With the ability to deploy up to 720kW of DC power dynamically across up to twelve connectors, our charging systems are optimised for high throughput and optimal efficiency. Engineered to operate at noise levels no greater than a typical conversation (<60 dB), our solutions are perfectly suited for urban, residential, and workplace environments.
To accommodate locations with limited electricity supply capacity, Motion Applied’s charging products can be supplemented with our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), ensuring continued functionality and scalability and supports white-labelling for flexible branding.
The Impact: The New EV Charging Landscape
Motion Applied’s EV charging solutions are ready to transform the industry, delivering long-term value for both Charge Point Operators and fleet managers. Charge Point Operators gain faster customer throughput and improved reliability while benefiting from the system's low maintenance requirements and up to 99.5% uptime.
Fleet managers can leverage the charging speed and reliability of the chargers to optimise their operations, minimising downtime and improving vehicle readiness. By addressing these operational challenges head-on, Motion Applied’s technology offers flexibility and scalability at a competitive price.
